On Monday, Feb. 27 at 7:30 p.m. in the H.O. Clemmons Arena, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff will launch its year-long sesquicentennial celebration and cap Black History Month with a program featuring Martin Luther King III.
University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) received a $9,141 donation from McDonald’s restaurants across Central Arkansas to support campus student services programs from a special HBCU-branded deal in the McDonald’s App.
UAPB is excited about congratulating alumnus Chaz Gates ’05 B.A. Mass Communications as co-founder/owner COO and his wife, Whitney Gates, co-founder/owner, CEO of Wondry Wines, on their venture and investor support success. The husband-and-wife team produced and presented a unique cocktail experience that won the support of Shark Tank investor Mark Cuban.
With a $5 million grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF), the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff (UAPB) will lead a collaboration with the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville (UAF) and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR) to establish a Quantum Information Science and Engineering (QISE) program. UAPB is one of three historically Black colleges, and universities (HBCUs) awarded the 2022 NSF Expanding Capacity in Quantum Information Science and Engineering program (ExpandQISE) grant, along with Howard University and Morehouse College.
