Getting to Know SAFHS: Meet Brad Mayhugh

IMG_4465The successes of the UAPB School of Agriculture, Fisheries and Human Sciences are largely due to its dedicated employees who are passionate about their work. Our “Getting to Know SAFHS” series highlights some of our talented faculty and staff and lets you know a little more about them.

What is your job role at UAPB?
I work as an Extension Specialist – Graphic Artist for the School of Agriculture, Fisheries and Human Sciences – Communications Office.

Where is your hometown?
Shannon Hills, Arkansas.

Where did you go to college?
I attended college at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

What did you major in?
I got my bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts with an emphasis in Graphic Design.

What year did you graduate?
I graduated in 2005.

What do you like most about your job?
Learning new things that improve my job and working with people at UAPB.

Describe your career before you came to UAPB.
I worked at a print shop as a prepress technician.

If you weren’t working at UAPB, what would your dream job be?
My dream job would be to have my own creative studio company.

What are your hobbies outside of work?
Movies, bowling, outdoor activities, etc.

Do you have a favorite movie or book?
I don’t have a favorite movie or book. I like all types of film, animation and book genres.

If you could visit any place in the world, where would you choose to go and why?
Japan is one of many places I would like to visit from around the world. I would like to see different landscapes, experience different cultures and learn about their history.

What is one goal you’d like to accomplish during your lifetime?
One of my goals in life would be to have my own family.

Who is your hero?
My mother is my hero.
