Vesper choir to present spring concert April 29

120114_2205_UAPBVesperc1.jpgThe University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Vesper Choir will present their Spring Concert Friday, April 29, at 6:00 pm in the J.M. Ross auditorium of the Hathaway-Howard Fine Arts building.  The Choir will present music from the “Chichester Psalms” by Leonard Bernstein, featuring Mr. Andee Book, voice instructor and assistant choir director, as countertenor soloist.  The ensemble recently performed the piece in Hebrew with the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra in three concerts in February.

The concert will also feature compositions by Randall Thompson, John Chorbajian, Roland Carter, Moses Hogan, George Gershwin and other composers.  Several voice students of Mr. Book will also perform.  Directed by Dr. Michael J. Bates, the Vesper Choir recently returned from their annual spring tour and performed in Florissant, MO, Cincinnati and Columbus, OH, Battle Creek, MI and Washington, D.C.  The guest director for the concert will be Mr. Jerron Liddell.
