A farm financial planning workshop is scheduled for Thursday, March 10, at the at the S.J. Parker 1890 Cooperative Extension Complex at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB). The workshop begins at 10 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m. with a complimentary lunch.
Aimed at current and beginning farmers and ranchers, the workshop will emphasize records and how they are used to calculate funds needed for an upcoming operation. Cash flow projections and repayment ability will also be included.
Farmers and ranchers will learn how to make and use balance sheets to determine the financial condition of an operation. Other tools necessary for an operation, such as enterprise budgets, break-even prices, cash land rent values and average yields of different enterprises will also be discussed. Questions about U.S. Department of Agriculture loan applications will be answered.
