Applications for the Arkansas Geographical Critical Needs Minority Teacher Scholarship Program are now available for the Spring 2016 semester at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and at all two-year and four-year colleges/universities. UAPB administers the scholarship program that was reauthorized by the 84th General Assembly (Act 1746) to address the shortage of public school teachers, particularly minority teachers, in the Delta Region. The program awards up to $1,500.00 per academic year (fall and spring semesters) for full-time enrollment and up to $750.00 per academic year for part-time enrollment. The Arkansas Geographical Critical Needs Minority Teacher Scholarship Program may be used at any two-year or four-year college or university in the state of Arkansas.
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- be a Black American, Hispanic American, Asian American or Native American,
- be enrolled in or accepted for enrollment at a baccalaureate degree-granting institution of higher education or at an accredited state-supported community college in Arkansas,
- complete the required scholarship application, and
- submit official transcripts for all course work done at institutions of higher education.
Deadline for the submission of the required documents is January 8, 2016. The completed application (attached), along with the official transcripts, must be submitted to the following location:
