The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff will officially unveil its new Student Success Center (SSC) Thursday, September 10, 2015 at 10 AM. Located in Caldwell Hall Suite 209, the center was established to enhance student retention and success.
“Our goal is for the center to be a place to help students navigate through any academic or personal challenges that may impact their ability to excel at the university,” said Rita Conley, director of the Student Success Center. This help may be in the form of student participation in SSC initiatives, selected campus activities and events, increased contact with faculty and advisors, or referrals to other support services and immediate follow-up.
“The SSC is collaborating with faculty, staff, students and support service providers to achieve student success, reach the university’s retention goals and propel students to graduation and careers,” stated Dr. Linda Okiror, associate vice chancellor for Enrollment Management and Student Success.
The celebration will include the unveiling of several new student success initiatives that provide students with academic support and enrichment programs. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 noon and is open to the public. For more information, contact Rita Conley at 870-575-8368 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
