PINE BLUFF, Ark. – The Department of Human Sciences at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) recently welcomed three new members into the Kappa Omicron Nu (KON) National Honor Society during an initiation ceremony. The KON chapter honors undergraduate and graduate students of human sciences that rank in the top 25 percent of their class.
The new inductees are senior Shemikia A. Jones, senior Pamla Jones and senior Brittany A. Jones. All three students are enrolled in UAPB’s Human Development and Family Studies program, which prepares students for employment as child development center directors, childcare specialists, nursery school/day care teachers, adoption placement agents and caseworkers.
“We are proud of our new members and their academic achievements,” said Rita Conley, KON faculty advisor. “Our expectations are that they will continue their leadership and scholarship in their professional practice.”
