PINE BLUFF, Ark. – Dr. Sederick C. Rice, assistant professor of biology at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB), has accepted a nomination and been appointed to serve on the University of Arkansas System eVersity Academic Governance Council (AGC). As a member of the Academic Governance Council, Dr. S. Rice will work with the eVersity leadership team to lay the foundation for the academic governance of the institution, review the curriculum drafted by UA System faculty teams, review and comment on academic policies, and make recommendations for the ongoing governance of the eVersity. Dr. S. Rice’s initial appointment will last until the eVersity secures independent accreditation.
A 1994 graduate of UAPB, Dr. Rice has worked extensively with the New England Board of Higher Education (NEBHE) and the Biomedical Sciences Careers Programs (BSCP), associated with the Harvard University Medical School, to promote opportunities for students interested in biomedical science fields and careers.
