PINE BLUFF, Ark. – The 4th annual Small Scale Producer Conference is scheduled for Thursday, April 24, at the Southwest Arkansas Electric – REA in Texarkana, Ark. The conference gets underway at 9:15 a.m. with registration, and the first session begins at 9:25 a.m. The conference will end by 3:30 p.m.
Conference topics include timber management, pond management, small ruminant (goats) production and management and available cost-share programs. Representatives from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency and the Natural Resources Conservation Services are among the presenters and will discuss cost-share programs. Presenters will be available for personal consultation with participants.
Lunch will be provided. Rusty Pendergraft, FSA county executive director, is the luncheon speaker. He will discuss the sign-up process for USDA farm and rancher disaster assistance and will be available to assist farmers to do so.
