PINE BLUFF, Ark. – The Annual Spring Cultural Fest is set for Tuesday, April 22, at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. The event will be held from 6 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. in the Adair-Greenhouse Building auditorium and will feature food from various cultures, fashions, live music and dance.
Hosted by Dr. Janette Wheat and her Families Across Cultures Class, the festival theme is “International Cuisine: The Different Spices of Cultures.” Attendees are encouraged to bring a food dish to share.
“The purpose of the cultural festival is to promote unity, demonstrate an appreciation and tolerance for a diversity of cultures, and showcase an array of international foods/cuisine, fashions, arts, music, mores, traditions and customs of multi-ethnic families’ way of life within a global society,” said Dr. Wheat, assistant professor and interim chair of the UAPB Department of Human Sciences.
Dr. Wheat and her Families Across Cultures Class have been hosting the annual cultural festival since in April 2006. For more information, contact Dr. Wheat at (870) 575-8807 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
