Mark your calendars! The 2013 Southwest Arkansas Small Farms Conference is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 6, at Hempstead Hall on the campus of University of Arkansas Community College at Hope. “Pathway to Building Thriving Rural Communities” is the theme of the conference which gets underway with registration at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m.
Aimed at small and limited resource farmers and landowners, the conference goal is to provide landowners and students with solutions for the increasingly important rural issues related to agriculture, health care and community and economic development.
The conference is free, but preregistration is requested by Nov. 26 to help with conference planning. Lunch will be provided. Exhibit space is available for participating businesses and governmental agencies.
