TAMU-C professor to speak during freshman assembly Thursday

PINE BLUFF, Ark. – Dr. R. N. Singh, professor and Head of the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice at Texas A&M University-Commerce, will be the featured speaker during the Freshman Studies assembly at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) Thursday, September 19. Dr. Singh will present “The Strategies for Prevention of Terrorism in Middle East” at 11:00 a.m. in the Hathaway-Howard Fine Arts auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.

With a research focus on suicide, terrorism, family violence, marriage relationships and criminal law, Dr. Singh has published several books and articles on the subject and was named as one of the Regents Professors in 2010 – 2011 by the Texas A&M University System’s Board of regents, received the Faculty Senate of Texas A&M University-Commerce named distinguished service award, Teaching Excellence Award from the Texas A&M University System Chancellor’s Office and Neil Humfeld Distinguished Service Award.
