PINE BLUFF, Ark. – Dr. Fredda D. Carroll, Professor and Interim Dean in the School of Education has been recommended by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) and her membership organization, the Association of Childhood Education International (ACEI), for re-nomination as a site visitor/Board of Examiner member for an additional three-year term. Carroll has been a member of the NCATE Board of Examiners since 2001.
In a letter to Dr. Carroll, Stephanie Kowal, site visit coordinator at NCATE stated that, “it is more important than ever as we transition from NCATE to CAEP to have committed and talented volunteers such as yourself. We truly value your continued service and dedication to your profession and to our national accreditation endeavors.”
July 1, 2013, marked the de facto consolidation of the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and the Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC), making the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) the new, sole specialized accreditor for educator preparation. CAEP advances excellence in educator preparation through evidence-based accreditation that assures quality and supports continuous improvement to strengthen P-12 student learning.
