PINE BLUFF, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff will offer a Compass exam workshop August 5-9 from 8 a.m. to noon in Dawson-Hicks Hall, Room 107. Free to students, the workshop is offered to students seeking admission to UAPB who scored 13 or 14 on the ACT exam and who have at least a 1.90 high school GPA. The Compass exam will also be given free of charge.
Sponsored by the Office of Enrollment Management and the UAPB Adult Education Center, the workshop will offer sessions on test-taking skills and Compass exam practice tests. The Compass exam is a computer-adaptive college placement test that lets educators: evaluate incoming students’ skill levels in Reading, Writing Skills, Writing Essay, Math, and English as a Second Language; place students in appropriate courses; and connect students to the resources they need to achieve academic success. It is required for admission to UAPB for students with low ACT scores.
To reserve a seat at the workshop, call Gloria Whitman at the Adult Education Center at 870-534-0749 or the Office of Enrollment Management at 870-575-8360.
