Dr. Wheat appointed 2nd vice chair for higher education unit of the AAFCS

Dr. Janette Wheat, an assistant professor at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, has been appointed as 2nd Vice Chair for the Higher Education Unit of the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (AAFCS) for 2013-2014. Dr. Wheat of the university’s Department of Human Sciences, was nominated by Dr. Carol Anderson, director of accreditation for AAFCS.

“This is a significant accomplishment for Dr. Wheat and for UAPB,” said Dr. Shandra Terrell Williams, UAPB Department of Human Sciences chair. “Join with me in congratulating Dr. Wheat.”

AAFCS is a professional association of educators, administrators and managers, human service and business professionals, researchers, community volunteers, and consultants. Members provide research-based knowledge about the topics of everyday life, including human development, personal and family finance, housing and interior design, food science, nutrition and wellness, textiles and apparel, and consumer issues.
