PINE BLUFF, Ark. – Ebony Cotton of Sheridan, Arkansas was recently awarded an Academic Scholarship from the Office of Recruitment at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB). To be eligible for the Academic Scholarship, a student must have a minimum ACT score of 21 and a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The Academic Scholarship pays full tuition.
Ms. Cotton is the daughter of Belinda Whitman and will graduate in May from Sheridan High School. The first African American Student Council President at Sheridan High School, her main activities include Senior Class President, FBLA Vice President, Dance Team Member, Choir Member and Students for Christ Club. Ms. Cotton will major in History at UAPB with plans on becoming a lawyer or professor after completing her bachelor’s degree.
“When I visited the UAPB campus, I really liked it and felt right at home,” Cotton said. “This will be a new experience that I am looking forward to.”
