Judge Waymond Brown to speak for Omega Psi Phi program Feb. 12

PINE BLUFF, Ark. – The Tau Sigma Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff will host a, “Honoring Black History” program on Tuesday, February 12 at 7:00 pm. The free, open event will be held in the L.A. Davis, Sr. Student Union lounge. Judge Waymond Brown, District 7 Appelate Court Judge will be the speaker.

A lifelong resident of Pine Bluff, Judge Brown is an active member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where he serves as a deacon, and the NAACP. Brown received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and continued his education by earning his law degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock – School of Law. He has served as Chief Legal Counsel for the Arkansas Employment Security Department, Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for Jefferson and Lincoln Counties, and Tax Accountant for Phillips Petroleum Company. He was also appointed by the Supreme Court Chief Justice to serve on the Arkansas Supreme Court Access to Justice Commission and the Supreme Court Committee for Continuing Legal Education.
