PINE BLUFF, Ark. – Brandon Campbell, creator of Little Rock Fashion Week (LRFW), is scheduled to speak at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff on Nov. 9. Campbell, who has worked as a writer and television producer, will speak at 1 p.m. in the Adair-Greenhouse Building (Human Sciences Building), Room 222-Fashion Design Studio.
The event is part of the Department of Human Sciences’ Merchandising, Textiles and Design Program Careers in Fashion Speaker Series which began in October. Those interested in careers in the fashion industry are encouraged to attend.
Campbell started LRFW in 2009 after returning to Little Rock from New York City where he worked in the entertainment and fashion industries. The first of its kind in Arkansas, LRFW highlights the state’s fashion industry, its artists and boutiques that cultivate the industry.
During his visit to UAPB, Campbell will discuss the realities of getting started in the fashion business, careers in the fashion industry and LRFW intern opportunities which include modeling (behind the scenes – not talent), fashion/styling, public relations, music, graphic design, production, sales, hairstylists, make-up artists, hospitality and video.
He will also discuss the LRFW Student Designer Dec. 5 deadline and application process. Visit the LRFW website at www.littlerockfashionweek.com/index.php.
