The Beta Beta chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. was chartered on the campus of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB, then AM&N) on December 17, 1952 by eleven scholarly and purpose driven women. The chapter participates in the sorority’s national initiatives such as the March of Dimes and Z-HOPE (Zetas Helping Other People Excel). The Beta Beta Chapter has hosted various events on campus such as Adopt-a-Hall, clothing drives, bake sales, book drives, and health awareness seminars. This thriving sisterhood has impacted the lives of many students at AM&N/UAPB and aims to continue this legacy.
Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated is an international sorority for women of any ethnic or cultural background. The sorority was founded January 16, 1920 on the campus of Howard University in Washington, D.C. with the founding principles of Scholarship, Service, Sisterly Love, and Finer Womanhood. The sorority is constitutionally bound to Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.
Scheduled activities for the weekend include: Meet and Greet Thursday, October 25, 2012 from 5:00PM-9:00PM at the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority House at 68 Watson Blvd.; Friday, October 26, 2012 UAPB Alumni Assembly at 10:00AM in the H.O. Clemmons Arena of the Kenneth L. Johnson, Sr., HPER Complex; Sorority Luncheon (by reservation) after assembly at John R. Fallis Waterfront Meeting Facility; 2700 Beach Front Drive. The guest speaker for the luncheon will be Mrs. Mattie Glover, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Arkansas State Director. The UAPB Homecoming Game is Saturday, October 27th at 2:30 PM at Golden Lion Stadium; the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. Roundup festivities will take place in Dawson-Hicks Hall after the game and on Sunday, October 28th at 10:00 AM worship services will be held at St. James United Methodist Church, 900 University Dr. Sheen Goal is chapter president and Angelica McClendon is the 60th Anniversary committee liaison.
