Pine Bluff, Ark- The Division of Graduate Studies and Continuing Education at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) is offering a Principles of Real Estate course for those interested in becoming a realtor. Taught by Richelene Irby-Harris, the 60 hour pre-licensure course will be offered Saturdays and Sundays beginning August 11 on the following dates: 11-12, 18-19 and 25-26 from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. each day in Dawson-Hicks Hall Room 123.
Richelene Irby-Harris, a native of Pine Bluff, graduated from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. She later furthered her career by attending Webster University in St. Louis, MO where she received a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Management in 1996 followed by a Master of Arts with an emphasis in Human Resources Development in 1999. In 2000, she became a licensed real estate agent for the State of Arkansas and in 2004 she furthered her real estate career by becoming a licensed broker for her own company, Century 21 – Bessie Beavers Realty, becoming the first black-owned franchise in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. In 2007, she began teaching at UAPB to prepare others throughout central Arkansas and surrounding areas to take the State Real Estate Exam. Mrs. Irby-Harris is a member of the Pine Bluff Realtors Association and the National Association of Realtors (NAR). Her office, Bessie Beavers Realty, is currently located at 3800 Camden Road – Ste. 4 in Pine Bluff.
