Physics professor presents at cultural convention

ASTORIA, QUEENS, NY – Dr. Miah Muhammad Adel, Professor of Space and Environmental Physics at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB), delivered a keynote speech at the 3rd America-Bangladesh-Canada (ABC) Convention in New York. The title of his talk was “Ecosystems Sustainability Challenge from International River Water Plunderage” and was delivered in the session entitled “Water Sharing Conflict: How Severe is the Threat to the Eco-System of Lower Riparian Region.”

As the premier organization for Bangladeshis living in North America, ABC has a rich cultural history. Founded in 2009, today the not-for-profit organization has more than 1,000 members and has a mission is to promote Bangalee cultural heritage abroad, build up bridges between homeland and motherland as well as develop the harmonious relationship between the growing Bangladeshi community and the main stream.
