PINE BLUFF, Ark. – A workshop for cow-calf producers is scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, April 7, in Room 7 of the Lee County Extension office in Marianna.
Dr. Ondieki Gekara, University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) animal scientist, and Dr. David Fernandez, UAPB livestock specialist, will be the main presenters. Dr. Gekara will discuss biosecurity with emphasis on farm level biosecurity to minimize the spread of disease, supplemental feeds to increase the productivity of grazing livestock, and nutrition. Selecting the right bull for your herd, optimizing herd health to boost pregnancy rates, and using herd records to maximize profits will be covered by Dr. Fernandez.
