PINE BLUFF, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) HIV/AIDS Peer Educators (HAPE), in collaboration with the Delta Region AIDS Education and Training of JCCSI will have a series of events to in remembrance and celebration of life December 2-3. This will mark the 25th Anniversary of World AIDS Day themed, “Getting to Zero: Zero new HIV infections: Zero discrimination. Zero related deaths.”
The observance will begin with a kick-off Sunday December 1 at 3:00 p.m. with an AIDS walk in the Pines Mall Café Court. Sponsored by the Pine Bluff Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., registration is $5.00 per person. Activities will conclude Monday, December 2 with a program in the L.A. Davis, Sr. Student Union Lounge at 11:00 a.m. followed by a balloon release and block party. Area health representatives will be on hand to talk with the community about how to protect themselves and others from HIV, stigma and discrimination concerning the condition and what we can do as a community to eradicate this pandemic. The program is free and open to the public.
